- Sync your preferences across your devices via iCloud
- Send local timer notifications (with your permission)
- Save mask sessions to your calendar (with your permission)
- Display Live Activities and widgets on your device
Permissions We Request
Masking may request the following permissions to enhance your experience:
- Notifications: To alert you when your mask timer is complete or approaching overtime
- Critical Alerts (AlarmKit): To deliver a safety alert if your mask significantly exceeds the recommended time, even when your phone is locked or on Do Not Disturb
- Calendar: To optionally save your mask sessions as events (only when you choose to)
- Motion: To create a relaxing visual effect during your mask session using device motion sensors. This data is used only for the animation and is never stored or transmitted
- iCloud: To sync your preferences and history across your Apple devices
You can manage these permissions anytime in iOS Settings.

Apple Services
- iCloud: If enabled, your settings and session history sync via your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Data Retention
Your preferences remain on your device until you delete the App or clear its data. Mask session history is automatically cleaned up after 90 days to keep your data minimal. iCloud-synced data follows Apple's retention policies.
Children's Privacy
Masking is designed to be safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since all data stays on your device and we don't collect any personal information, children can safely use the App under parental guidance.

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data:

- iCloud sync uses Apple's end-to-end encryption
- No data is transmitted to external servers
International Users
Masking is available worldwide. Since your data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account, no data is transferred to our servers. Apple's iCloud service may store data in data centers located in various countries according to Apple's policies.
